Psycho

This song was heavily inspired by K-pop and the kind of aggressive hip hop tracks that Korean boy bands often release. I personally don’t consider K-pop to be a music genre but an umbrella term for songs in Korean instead, so I’d never say this song is K-pop as it’s in English, but it was definitely influenced by the biggest music trends in Korea, and it includes catchy rap sections and a powerful chorus too.

I wrote this song being inspired by “wrath” both as a sin and as a feeling, and I didn’t even try to hide the fact that it’s a song about being completely mad. But at the same time I felt good after writing this song and letting all that anger out, so in a way this track is also a way to show that it’s okay to feel angry sometimes if someone hurts us. We can’t stay happy around the clock, and that’s fine. ‘Psycho’ also sounds like the Japanese word ‘saikou’, which means ‘the best’, so I did that wordplay purposely to show that there are always 2 sides to every story.
